Before You Start
Ensure that a workspace devoid of contaminants is prepared.
Wash your hands with soap and water.
Step 01
Cleaning plunger method: Filter a cup of water
Filter one final measure of water to utilize for the purpose of backwashing.
Tip: Ensure that a sanitized vessel is utilized.

Cleaning plunger method: Fill plunger with clean water
Fill the cleaning plunger with the filtered water in the cup.

Method of cleansing via plunger: Establish a connection between the plunger and the filtration apparatus
Detach the filtration unit's end cap and proceed to position the plunger upon the apex of the said filter.

Cleaning plunger method: Backwash the filter
Utilize the palm of your hand to reverse the flow through the filter with considerable force. Perform this action thrice or until the liquid exhibits transparency.
Tip: Discard the backwashed water.
Step 05
Method of cleansing the coupling: Instill the vessel with purified aqua
Fill a clean, threaded plastic bottle with filtered water.

Cleaning coupling method: Connect the bottle to the filter
Screw the cleaning coupling onto the drinking side of the filter. Then screw the bottle of filtered water onto the cleaning coupling.
Step 07
Method of cleansing via coupling: Execute a reverse flow through the filtration system
Invert the bottle and apply considerable pressure to reverse the flow through the filter. Continue this process until the effluent is transparent and flows without resistance.
Tip: Discard the backwashed water.
